R. Cooper is a Mars-Sec security guard encountered at the beginning of Doom 3, who inspects cargo inbound from space transports to Mars City and greets new arrivals on Mars. He also directs them to where they should go. His fate is unknown, but he was most likely killed when the demons invaded.
His name may be a reference to a character named Richard Cooper in the 1995 Sci-Fi film Screamers.
