Robert O. Cody (or Bob Cody) was a maintenance technician and the head of a maintenance team assigned to Caverns Area 1 on Mars during the events of Doom 3. A month before the demon invasion, Cody and his team were sent to the Caverns to fix the power generators. However, while in the caverns, they were constantly plagued by mysterious "howlers", earthquakes (or Mars-quakes) accompanied by inexplicable screaming. After ten days of working, Cody and his men stopped working, refusing to resume their current assignment until someone figured out what was causing the howlers.
