Sam Lantinga

Sam Oscar Lantinga is a video game programmer who created SDL Doom in the year 1998. His community name or web alias is Slouken. He is best known for being the primary maintainer and project organizer of the Simple DirectMedia Layer (or SDL) library, which is utilized by many source ports to achieve cross-platform abstraction of support for video, audio, timing, and input. The library has become a standard on Linux and similar platforms which is considered to be of similar importance to DirectX on Windows.
