A Shotgun guy in E1M1: Hangar (Doom)

The Sergeant (sometimes called the Shotgun guy) is a former human enemy. Sergeants are dressed in blood-coated black uniforms and carry shotguns. These shotguns are dropped when they are killed and can be picked up by players.

Internally the doom source code gives the Sergeant the type name of MT_SHOTGUY. The sprites for the Sergeant have the prefix SPOS. Conversely, the Demon is known internally as MT_SERGEANT, with the sprite name SARG; in the Doom Bible, the Demon was originally known as a "Demon Sergeant" (and see also Trooper).
