It certainly did not feel like three seconds for me, so I did some reading. From the first state to the hellfire explosion state, it takes 66 tics, or around 1.89 seconds. The numbers of tics elapsed are "delayed" because I assume, correct me if I am wrong, that the relevant functions like {{c|A_VileAttack}} are called at the beginning immediately after fetching their relevant state, and not at the end where the state's duration has finished.
