In my opinion this should be renamed to Compet-n, as the official name is COMPET-N, all upper case. The case is similar to the DOOM/Doom question, and Compet-N is the equivalent of DooM. Who is like God? 21:31, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

That would affect many articles, as you can see.  I agree that it seems inconsistent to allow a random PWAD author from 1995 to choose his/her own capitalization, but not id or a decade-old community portal.  That part of the policy was before my time, however, so you'd have to ask Fredrik why he thought we should do what Wikipedia does.    Ryan W 16:41, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Articles can be fixed over time, and the task is eased by using the search feature. I'll be doing it myself (especially in any case where I propose the change). I think Fredrik's policy is reasonable for readability purposes and general editing practices (though I've still not put enough thought to the use of all-caps for lump names), he just misapplied it in regard to COMPET-N, which is just a shortening of "competition" for the DOS era (8 characters max), thus -itio- is missing and the N is just the last letter of the word/name.
