Editing Talk:D!ZONE (section) From DoomWiki.org Warning: You are not logged in. Your IP address will be recorded in this page's edit history. Anti-spam check. Do not fill this in! == D·1000 == This compilation CD called D·1000, incorrectly called D! 1000 at , doesn't seem to have anything to do with the D!ZONE line. It was published by GAMETEK, not by WizardWorks, and doesn't have the same branding or style. I doubt it is notable to have its own article, though perhaps a "Compilation CDs" article which covers all the ones which are NOT part of a larger series, including such ones as DemonGate, would be appropriate. I have removed all information regarding D·1000 from this article until evidence comes to light that connects it to the D!ZONE series. This article is not meant to serve as a list of links to unrelated compilations. --Quasar 16:31, 2 February 2014 (UTC) : Do you suppose the cover image needs to be deleted as well, unless we're willing to keep it for the 6 years it might take that article to appear? Ryan W 22:59, 13 March 2014 (UTC) : I would be happy to provide some facts on any of the shovelware compilations I personally own (link to list available on request, don't want to just post it in case it comes off as spam), such as publisher, date, general overview of the contents, and so forth, as long as it's not going to be nixed as "not notable enough". -- ETTiNGRiNDER (talk) 21:59, 25 May 2014 (UTC) :: At least we could create a list article with the data you mention; Doom shovelware discs as a class are almost certainly notable. Ryan W (talk) 02:59, 26 May 2014 (UTC) ::: So would that be added to the list here or split into a separate page? -- ETTiNGRiNDER (talk) 05:28, 26 May 2014 (UTC) :::: It's my opinion we need a new article on the subject. There are too many compilations for the Commercial games article IMO, and arguably, they're not "games" anyway. --Quasar (talk) 06:30, 27 May 2014 (UTC) ::::: Yeah, I was surprised to see how long that section had become. :> Assuming there's a reasonably clean distinction between compilations (like D!ZONE 150) and expansion IWADs (Perdition's Gate), then we simply split the former off to a new page, with a "see also" link at the top of the existing section. Ryan W (talk) 22:57, 27 May 2014 (UTC) :::::: The only fuzzy line I can think of in that regard is H!Zone, which has both exclusive levels and a shovelware section. Master Levels / Maximum Doom is already handled as its own special case, as it should be. Pretty much every other disc, at least out of the ones I have, are just levels off of the internet shoved onto a disc with at most maybe a modded or fully custom frontend, or some other small bonus (3D Game Alchemy has a graphics library to use in your own WADs, for instance.) -- ETTiNGRiNDER (talk) 13:36, 29 May 2014 (UTC) ::::: And if not for factor of including those custom episodes, I'd have not given H!ZONE its own article either, myself, as it is already mentioned in this one. But that's water under the bridge. Needless to say, I don't want to see an article for every one of these disks so I think it's best if we put together some ideas/work on a "Compilations" article, or some other suitable title ASAP. --Quasar (talk) 17:59, 29 May 2014 (UTC) Summary: All contributions to DoomWiki.org are considered to be released under the CC BY-SA 4.0 International (see Doom Wiki:Copyrights for details).
