Is this worth it?

I understand that DMXOPL is a great GENMIDI replacement and all that, but what makes it special/unique from all the other GENMIDI lump replacements? In fact another GENMIDI lump was released within this month [1].

DMXOPL doesn't have a Cacoward, nor are people nominating it (if they are, I haven't seen them). It's not the only GENMIDI project that tries to enhance GENMIDI. It's not that big (I'm aware of its usage in an Android MIDI player app and foodumb, but is that justifiable enough?) either.
