Spamming

Why does this article attract so many spambots? There must be an SEO-like explanation. --Gez (talk) 04:35, 29 June 2015 (CDT)

Bots with outdated lists of "hot pages" apparently. Because according to Google, very few people search for or hit this page any longer:
# Pages Clicks Impressions CTR Position
1 /wiki/Doom:_The_Boardgame 3 241 1.24% 12.5
Unfortunately a page once on those lists is likely to stay on them. Spammers can buy these databases with years/decades of built-up spam targets. --Quasar (talk) 09:38, 29 June 2015 (CDT)
