Given that this Earthbound Doom wiki exists, perhaps it might be a good idea to cut out all the verbose information and replace it with a link to the EBDoom wiki for those who want more information. Fraggle 01:19, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. I just took a look at the size of the article and it's FAR too big, weighing in at 52Kb. However, the link is now broken (Probabally because I'm posting this 7 months later) -- TheDarkArchon 01:33, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Super mod? 216.114.97.128 00:52, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

I found a download link from the guy who made this. Posted it in the links section, for those who still care. What's funny is that apparently even he acknowledges the overall quality implosion in various parts of this thing. 66.189.75.211 04:04, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

Not anymore [read more to find out stuff] o.oEdit

Sorry, but I removed the link from my page [I won't say who told me someone had somehow found it when it shouldn't have been found by anyone else]. It's replaced with a "joke" link now. :P

It was seriously placed there only as an online backup in case some inconceivable thing occured that would've deleted all my offline backups. I kept it because I wanted to remember the lessons I learned from making it and took from it. Also, it's not easy to completely delete one of your own projects, no matter how much it might or might not end up sucking. :\

HOWEVER I will offer that if someone really wants to continue hosting it, they can, but I will not publicly host it on my servers and stuff. There's a reason I don't deal with EBDoom anymore. I've moved on to other [hopefully much better] projects, and it's up to the rest of the community to carry it around if they really think it should be carried around. If you want a copy, I'll try to put it on a filesharing site sometime in the next few days and update this topic with a link, or someone can e-mail me [clint20@neo.rr.com] and I'll try to send it to them, if they offer to host it somewhere off of one of my sites.

Sorry for the inconveinence for those who had just found it, but it was not meant to be found and downloaded off of my site, it was solely there for a hidden backup, hence why it was in an out-of-the-way folder. :\

EDIT: That was fast. Go here and you should be able to download it from a public server: http://www.filefront.com/17816100/EBDooMBeta656.7z Hopefully that will take care of this @_@ Sorry for all the trouble folks. :P

DeletionEdit

This is a long, verbose article about a mod that has always been extremely niche (and ridiculed on Doomworld forums over its poor quality), and the only reason it exists at all is because of a page created all the way back in 2005 presumably by the mod creator. The mod has never been finished, it exists for an outdated source port, and nothing whatsoever about it is remarkable or notable given it's little more than a demo for EDGE. It contributes a non-indifferent amount of redlinks, not to mention being linked on other pages for no reason, and the only reason anyone would even find out this exists is because of this page having been created back then. Because this is easily the most worthless mod article on the wiki right now, I really think we should remove it. --Dynamo128 (talk) 15:06, 24 March 2022 (CDT)

If not for your points about the author's contrition over the entire thing I'd probably be of a mind to keep it just because of its history in relationship to the wiki - at the time, this wasn't the only article created, but in contradiction to our policies even at the time, EarthBound Doom info was being added literally everywhere, in articles such as "Serpent Riders", "D'Sparil", "Korax", etc. In fact I think some of it still exists. It was quite an affair/"big stink" and really has stuck in my mind over the years as one of the early comic episodes of the wiki's maintenance. But of course this doesn't really factor in given all the above. So I'll vote Delete as per policy. --Quasar (talk) 08:18, 2 June 2022 (CDT)
All this drama happened way before my involvement with the wiki, but I see no reason to keep it either. Delete. And yes, some of those links elsewhere still exist, and will need to be cleaned up once the article is gone. --Xymph (talk) 08:24, 2 June 2022 (CDT)
Yes, I intend on clearing out those references as well, including references related to this mod, some of which are actually near the top of the wanted pages list, and on my eternal quest to hack away at that list, they're a constant annoyance :P Just need the article itself nuked first I suppose. --Dynamo128 (talk) 11:07, 2 June 2022 (CDT)
I'm not seeing a reason to keep this, either, and based on my interpretation of wiki policy I'm also going delete. Even if it was kept, it would need a chainsaw taken to it to get rid of the stuff we don't need. Gauss (talk) 11:57, 2 June 2022 (CDT)

In light of a recent deletion, bringing this up to attention again since the consensus was much the same here. :) --Dynamo128 (talk) 12:22, 12 July 2022 (CDT)
