Relevance of this topic

Um... what exactly has changed since the 2006 discussions [1] [2] [3] to make Eidolon related to Doom, when it wasn't related then?    Ryan W 01:00, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

The one point that could be made in favor of it now by opposition to then is that pages like Wikipedia:Eidolon (Hexen) no longer exist and the information that was to be found there in 2006 has been entirely removed now. The other point (viz. "it's not Doom") still stands of course. --Gez 09:18, April 30, 2010 (UTC)
That's an argument for creating an article *somewhere* on Wikia.  Here, for example.  There's also a Hexen Wiki.    Ryan W 17:06, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

Still out of scope, per the above linked discussions.  I realize that there is now no "interwiki" for Hexen, but nothing stops anyone from linking to an independent site from the other Riders' pages, or from a hypothetical background article about the Heretic universe.  Delete please.    Ryan W 19:58, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Meh, disagree. Let's keep it. We have no reason to link to Wikipedia (where it doesn't exist anymore) or to Wikia (because Wikia is Wikia); and it hasn't turned into a full-fledged creeping of other Hexen II stuff. Having single articles for Heretic II, Hexen II, and Eidolon seems acceptable to me. I'm not saying articles for random Hexen II enemies like those cat things or medusas or whatever wouldn't be out of scope; but Eidolon makes sense because it'd be weird to have to censor him out of articles discussing Korax and D'Sparil. --Gez 05:59, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
Also, strictly speaking, Eidolon's arm does appear at the end of Hexen. (Although if this is to be believed that was almost not the case.) That said, I could see containing Eidolon to whatever is said on the Serpent Riders page. Blzut3 17:07, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
Keep for the reason he appears in the Hexen ending, and is a critical subject in reaching a complete understanding of the Serpent Riders. The same cannot be said for other enemies in Hexen II, so this does not automatically create a precedent for expansion of the wiki to cover Hexen II materials. --Quasar 18:12, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

After agreement from Ryan, I have rewritten the article so that it focuses less on Hexen II battle tactics and goes a bit more in-depth explaining Eidolon's connection to all the games he appears or is mentioned in. I hope that this is now a quality article that is worth keeping for its completion of the trinity of Serpent Rider articles, despite the fact that it does lay on the very fringe of our mission for this wiki. --Quasar 01:20, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

New edit

Can anybody confirm or deny the most recent change? I myself had felt I had been killed by the lightning bolts that start striking around the arena at random during the second phase but I was never able to verify whether or not this was the case or if I'd been hit by some other attack at the same time the lightning appeared to strike. I suppose a look at the game code might be necessary if nobody knows for sure. Also, getting turned into a sheep? I've never had this happen to me so far so it must be pretty rare if that's true. --Quasar 18:50, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
