Do not fill this in! == Demos version == What is a Boom-compatible v2.14 source port? Fabiangreffrath : If you're asking this regarding the demo listings, the Boom version number generally refers to the complevel the demos were recorded with. v2.14 in this case, I believe, would be cl14. --MF38 (talk) 01:44, 24 November 2023 (CST) :: I understand this. The problem is that complevel 14 is very PrBoom-specific and there is no such thing as a v2.14 Boom-compatible source port. The wording doesn't seem to make any sense to me. Fabiangreffrath : The (Pr)Boom/MBF family uses a wide variety of version bytes: 200-204, 210-214. That list is based on all demo lumps I encountered in the field, and on examination of the source code of a few ports. I am not familiar (enough) with all the differences and which port can use/generate which demo versions. So in the script that generates the built-in demos table I simply chose a generic phrase, unless I was sure (enough) about a more specific one. Such as MBF-compatible v2.03, MBF21-compatible (221), and PrBoom+um v2.6+ (255). If version 214 can be assigned more specifically too, I'd be happy to update the phrase in the script, and also update the 20+ WADs covered on the wiki containing the same introductory sentence. --Xymph (talk) 04:53, 24 November 2023 (CST) Summary: All contributions to DoomWiki.org are considered to be released under the CC BY-SA 4.0 International (see Doom Wiki:Copyrights for details).
