What is the significance of "Martek"?[edit]

I've just been revisiting Hexen II and noticed that one of the notes in the castle town is left by "Martek the Tailor". If Raven referenced this name in both games, it must have some significance, yes? I did some quick searching on Google, but "martek" on its own brought up a bunch of probably unrelated companies, while adding "hexen" or "heretic" mostly got references to the code and a couple to the tailor message. MobyGames doesn't indicate it being an employee name, either. -- ETTiNGRiNDER (talk) 15:10, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

I cannot be sure but the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons campaign "Lost Tomb of Martek" seems as if it might be a likely candidate. The backstory of the campaign is strangely similar to the lore of the Serpent Riders universe - a "sky" ship sailing into a sea of glass, which is broken by the attack of some kind of monster, while the heroes are on a quest for a "sphere of power" is basically a few words changed from the space-faring ship breaking the crystal dome at the edge of space, letting in the Serpent Riders with their Chaos Sphere. --Quasar (talk) 17:42, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
