What's up with the Tamas Flamich's record in the C-N tables? The demo was recorded in 2008. I always assumed that Doom Wiki only lists "official" records, from 2005 or older and I never bothered to correct it in MM2/Requiem pages.

The Doom community at large has apparently decided that /incoming demos are OK, because they are usually double-checked by other expert players.  See, for example, the dwforums discussions linked here.    Ryan W 16:23, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

The problem lies in incosistency, IMO. For example, in MM2 MAP29 page the Max record is Jonas Feragen's demo which was discovered to be an invalid max. The time was later improved by Eugene Kapustin (and this demo is a valid Max and is in /incoming folder) and later by vdgg (and his two demos are not in /incoming because the possibility to upload new demos ceased in about 2009). In 99% of the MM/MM2/Requiem/AV/Plutonia/Doom2 etc. pages the "official" records are listed. I may slowly correct them, but I need to know clearly if the demos which are not in /incoming are to be listed with a DSDA link. MementoM 17:25, June 15, 2010 (UTC)

The wiki does not make its own rules about what is an "official" run and what is not.  We follow whatever the speedrunning experts decide.

If you find inconsistencies or errors in the listings, the most likely explanation is that no one else has examined them in years.  (Keeping the tables current is an extremely tedious job, and most people only like to write about brand new WADs anyway.)  Therefore, please feel free to make these changes if you think it makes the articles more accurate.    Ryan W 00:51, June 16, 2010 (UTC)

An anon editor notes that the BFG is not available for this level. If this is true, we shouldn't give that bit as strategic information in the first place, in my opinion, as covering what can only be done with cheats is not really useful information (with cheats you can just noclip to the exit of every level, but that isn't something worth making note of on every map article, as an example). --Quasar (talk) 09:58, 14 September 2016 (CDT)
