Do not fill this in! ==Release date== I got the June 22 date from Mobygames, however Wikipedia:Quake says May 31. Our timeline says May 31 for Final Doom and Strife. radius 00:59, 10 May 2005 (UTC) :I think May 31 is right. Fredrik 18:29, 10 May 2005 (UTC) OK, I will change the date. radius 21:09, 10 May 2005 (UTC) ==Delete== Quake does not have to have with the "Engine Doom" and blablabla. Hexen II and heretic II cannot be, but Quake to be, is. Aff, this is ridicule! Delete this article! 201.26.177.109 15:52, 5 May 2006 (UTC) : I think the content of this article discusses its relationship with Doom, and thus it is different from the Wikipedia article. Keep. Fraggle 16:13, 5 May 2006 (UTC) : Keep. I think there could be more in-depth coverage of the direct influence played by Doom + some of the influence quake has had on post-quake doom stuff though. -- Jdowland 17:59, 5 May 2006 (UTC) :Keep for the same reasons as Jon: Doom's influcence is evident in Quake -- TheDarkArchon 22:48, 5 May 2006 (UTC) :I'd say keep it. Janizdreg 15:31, 6 May 2006 (UTC) Consensus here looks like keep as well. I'm going to remove the tag. Fraggle 23:20, 14 May 2006 (UTC) : Well, it's arbitrary that we have an article on Quake and not on other Quake games. Perhaps it could be moved to Quake games, then giving an overview of relations between the DOOM games and each relevant Quake game? For example, ZDoom includes a railgun like Quake 2's, we can mention ways the DOOM games influenced the Quakes (BFG, weapon types, monsters, that Quake 2 is like Doom with alien cyborgs instead of demonic ones, &c) and note add-ons that recreate or are influenced by the Quakes (such as that secret level in Requiem and other stuff). Most of what the articles says applies to all of the Quake games, anyway. Who is like God? 23:13, 8 August 2008 (UTC) ==Texture carried over from Doom== I remember, a long time ago, reading a forum post that showed how one of Doom's textures had been carried over into Quake II and possibly the original Quake. It was this texture, RW35_1, a tiling rock wall texture. As far as I remember it was the only resource that was used in both Doom and the finished version of Quake. I assume it came from a CDROM of stock textures. Unfortunately I can't find a reference for this any more, and I'm not sure if the texture appeared in the original Quake or just Quake II. -Ashley Pomeroy 18:23, July 10, 2010 (UTC) : In the E1M4 of Quake there's a texture similar to ROCK4 and ROCK5 Summary: All contributions to DoomWiki.org are considered to be released under the CC BY-SA 4.0 International (see Doom Wiki:Copyrights for details).
