Editing Talk:Straferunning From DoomWiki.org Warning: You are not logged in. Your IP address will be recorded in this page's edit history. Anti-spam check. Do not fill this in! Is there any discussion on SR50 + Wallrunning? It would be interesting to see what kind of gaps might be crossed at this speed, and if there is any theoretical faster speed without -turbo. (Come to think of it, max theoretical speed in Doom WITH turbo might be interesting to see, too. Like...the Large Doomguy Collider...or...I dunno. Hi guys.) Zack 02:11, 26 September 2008 (UTC) : Wallrunning requires some odd angle like 22.5 degrees, where as SR-50 results in a 45 degree angle run. I don't think the combination is possible. As for turbo, I might be incorrect in my assumption, but I always thought the distance you could jump was relative to the value of turbo (for example a value of 200 would let you leap twice as far). EarthQuake 07:22, 26 September 2008 (UTC) :: Well Wallrunning (check the article for a more thorough explanation) actually doesn't require the player to face any special angles, as long as the momentum is in the right direction. So an SR50 wallrun at, say, 44 degrees, will theoretically work, and it would not surprise me if it has been used in speedruns. :: As far as I know, you're spot on with turbo...so -turbo 255 * SR50 * Wallrunning can theoretically get the player to run more than 7 times as fast as normal and leap 7 times as far. But talking about it is one thing...I'd love to see someone do it. :P Zack 09:01, 26 September 2008 (UTC) ::: Suggestion: watch some COMPET-N demos (UV speed and NM speed) for the maps Fredrik listed at the top of this page. Wallrunning with SR50 is almost certain to show up in one of them. (I recall wallrunning from E1M8 actually, but it might have been the "straight ahead" kind.)
