The Ancient Gods, Part Two is the upcoming second single-player downloadable content expansion for Doom Eternal, and is currently available as a pre-order item to purchasers of the Year One Pass. Tangible details first appeared on the Steam store page in the form of achievement listings beginning on or around March 5, 2021. On March 7, Bethesda announced a teaser trailer release scheduled for March 15.[1] A full trailer was announced for two days later on March 17, and contained the expansion's release date of March 18 when it was unveiled.[2]
Story
Spoiler Warning: Plot details follow.
The Doom Slayer will lay siege to Immora, the Dark Lord's fortress in the heart of Hell. If he can defeat his opponent, Hell will be re-sealed forever.[3]
New enemies
- Armored baron[3]
- Cursed prowler: Sneaks in to poison the player with its cursed claws and then retreats, forcing a chase.[4]
- Riot shield soldier
- Screecher: A zombie which, when killed, unleashes a powerful shriek which buffs other demons, making it best to save for last.[4]
- Stone imp: A more damage-resistant form of the imp with gray skin and purple eyes and claws which can coil up and dash at the player.[5][4]
Bosses
- Dark Lord: A mirror of the Doom Slayer, he will be able to take resources from the player much as the player takes them from his enemies.[2]
New weapons
- Sentinel Hammer - Also known as the Hellbreaker. A legendary weapon given to the Slayer by the Betrayer which can combine with the flame belch or ice bomb to extract resources, stun enemies, and kill minor demons in a single blow.[3][4]
