Story

Spoiler Warning: Plot details follow.

The Ancient Gods, Part Two starts off where Part One ended, with the Slayer bringing the Dark Lord's life sphere to the Illuminarium. With the Dark Lord brought into physical form, the Slayer attempts to attack him, but is unable to as the Illuminarium forbids combat. The Dark Lord tells the Doomslayer to challenge him in ritual combat at Immora, the capital city of Hell, before leaving through a portal.

If he succeeds, all demons outside of the dark realm will perish, and the Dark Lord himself will die. If he fails, Hell will be unstoppable.

In order to travel to Immora, the Doomslayer must activate the only portal that can take him there, the Gate of Divum. The Slayer travels to Argent D'nur, to the tip of the World Spear, to seek a power source capable of powering the gateway. He fights his way through an ancient Sentinel village and obtains the Sentinel Hammer from an apparition of Commander Valen. The Slayer lights the Torch of Kings, signaling his mission to all of Argent D'nur, and rides an Argentian dragon to the Nether Lake, a vast swath of water surrounding the spear. He crosses the lake and enters the World Spear, which is revealed to be a giant ship. Here he obtains a shard of the spear, and enters a portal to the Gate of Divum, located in an overgrown and abandoned human city on Earth.

The Slayer fights his way through the abandoned city and arrives at the gate, inserting the shard and activating the portal. He arrives at Immora, where the Dark Lord and his forces are waiting. The Sentinel army joins the Doomslayer, and a colossal battle ensues between the Sentinels and the armies of Hell. The Slayer pierces Immora's perimeter and battles through the city, entering portals and hitchhiking on top of a Sentinel ship.

He arrives at the Dark Lord's throne room, and engages him in one on one combat while the Dark Lord teleports them to Earth and Ingmore's Sanctum. The Dark Lord reveals to the Slayer that he is the true first being, and creator of the Father, betrayed by his own creations with history rewritten. The Slayer manages to defeat the Dark Lord and ends his life, leading to the destruction of all demons outside of his realm. The Doomslayer faints and is encased in a tomb in the center of the sanctum by the Maykrs.

  • Screecher - A zombie which, when killed, unleashes a powerful shriek which buffs other demons, making it best to save for last.[4]
