The Inquisitor III is an episode mod for Doom II and GZDoom. It was worked on by Shadowman, BigMemka and Guest. It is the followup to Shadowman's The Inquisitor and The Inquisitor 2, but unlike those two which were single map releases, The Inquisitor III is a full episode replacement containing 12 maps set up as a hub, allowing revisiting most of its locations.

The Inquisitor III is set in the fantasy land of Khoros and features a very in-depth RPG system, as it is possible to upgrade up to five skills the player possesses: strength (for melee combat), dexterity (for movement speed and archery skill), intelligence (for blue mana weapons), wisdom (for green mana weapons) and vitality (for reducing damage taken in combat). A brand new arsenal is also provided, as well as multiple different mana spells and many new custom enemies, some of which return from previous instalments of the series.

The Inquisitor III was originally released on December 2, 2016. Since then, a major overhaul project resulted in the release of an updated version on February 10, 2019, dubbed Inquisitor 3D, which added one extra map, overhauled many of its aspects, and most notably added 3D model support for many of the game's environments. The Inquisitor III was featured in the Top 25 Missed Cacowards.
