Threat sensor
From DoomWiki.org
The threat sensor is an item in the 2016 Doom which is available only in multiplayer. Like the threat pulse, which is unlocked earlier, the sensor will detect and reveal enemy positions. Unlike the threat pulse however, the threat sensor has a much smaller tagging radius and must be thrown onto a surface, much like the kinetic mine. The device will emit beeps while active, and will become louder once an enemy is within its tagging radius.
"A reflected energy device [which] tunnels through walls to highlight obscured enemies."
― Equipment menu description
The threat sensor was part of the original set of side-arm equipment items available at launch. Since update v6.66, the threat sensor must be unlocked through player progression, and is available beginning at level 38.
