The Trial takes the form of four metallic floating blocks, which occasionally open up to reveal an eye-like structure capable of firing energy blasts that slow the player if they hit. The blocks themselves are invulnerable, but sufficient damage to the eye will cause the block to fall to the ground. When this happens, the player must then punch the block from the correct angle, causing it to hit the shield in the center of the arena and self-destruct. These blocks are fought one at a time for most of the battle, but the final two will activate simultaneously. The trial is completed when all four blocks are destroyed.

Tactical analysis

The Trial takes the form of four metallic floating blocks, which occasionally open up to reveal an eye-like structure capable of firing energy blasts that slow the player if they hit. The blocks themselves are invulnerable, but sufficient damage to the eye will cause the block to fall to the ground. When this happens, the player must then punch the block from the correct angle, causing it to hit the shield in the center of the arena and self-destruct. The first two blocks are fought one at a time, while the final two will activate simultaneously. The trial is completed when all four blocks are destroyed.

The blocks move quickly and only expose the eyes for a short period of time, making hitscan weapons with long range such as the heavy cannon a good choice to counter them. As Hell knights will routinely spawn to harass the player, the chaingun's energy shield mod will minimize the risk of being overrun while attempting to shoot down the blocks.
