: If I may: 302s have been discussed for years but not yet approved or rejected [https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T53736]. If approved, I suspect redirects would be banned on this site as an SEO risk. I definitely agree about JS, no MediaWiki function should ever require it unconditionally [https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T144781]. But [[mw:Compatibility#Browser_support_matrix|Lynx is not a supported app]], so even after the fix, you'd have to test again and possibly write the PHP patch yourself if you desired prompt action. :7 HTH.
