It's really good to see you here - I can't think of anyone more qualified to write about Doom technical articles. Fraggle 14:13, 30 Sep 2005 (UTC) : Welcome indeed :) I agree with Fraggle. Some of us here are trying to piece together detailed descriptions of technical aspects of bugs and unusual behaviours, etc., with source code examples where possible. Your pages are of course a great source of inspiration for this task. -- Jdowland 14:25, 30 Sep 2005 (UTC) ---- Thanks, I just thought I should contribute. I don't play Doom or work on the source anymore, though. What I write is from memory. I'll try to contribute when I have the time, but I'm very busy in my job (writing assembly code, C and Fortran on supercomputers). --Leekillough 15:10, 2 March 2006 (UTC) Wow, time flies. I just saw Simon's reproductions of my Doom demos on YouTube tonight, which prompted me to return here. I'm flattered. I am currently at Microsoft, although not working on games (nothing close to Xbox -- the closest I've gotten to Xbox has been chatting to Xbox folks at offsite beer parties). Suffice to say I'm working on new R&D technology in the "incubation" stage (I'm not making that term up). Very related to my Wikipedia profile. I still keep in touch with Jim Flynn (the other major force behind Boom). He has had some health problems and is unemployed, but he is hanging in there. I looked at the Doom Wiki and I'm surprised that Rez (Ky Moffet) is not mentioned. It's real tough right now in the computer SW and HW industry -- lots of layoffs of current and former acquaintances. I recommend you get on LinkedIn (linkedin.com) if you want to build contacts. It's not like Facebook or MySpace in that it's not a social site, but it builds on professional relationships. Although the bad economy has been somewhat diffuse in the gaming industry (spread out over time), I heard Midway filed for bankruptcy, and THQ is delaying releases until the next fiscal year (I've been anxiously waiting for Red Faction Guerrilla). It was a strange year in Redmond. A record high of 91 degrees F one day in June, followed by over 18 inches of snow right before Xmas. Good luck, whatever your pursuits.
