Do not fill this in! == No "br"? == I was wondering after reading your comment to not use "br" inside HTML blocks elements in the Magenta Spire article, what is the correct code then to create proper spacing between entries in the list so that left and right columns match up properly? I'm somewhat confused since i used this many times before and it was apparently fine; and i've seen it used in many other articles like Eviternity for the exact same purpose. It seems to me that you and Xymph have different stances when it comes to some of these writing conventions? What's the whole beef about between HTML and markup? {{unsigned|Gregor}} : Breaks are meant to occur inside paragraphs of text as part of inline flow; using them to create padding between block elements is HTML 1.0 style use of markup. Padding and margins should be established via use of CSS properties. I was not aware that it had become a sort of consensus to be using them this way and I would have rather it not done so if I'd known about it. There are more appropriate ways to accomplish the same thing. Please sign your posts btw, it's difficult to know who you are talking to otherwise without having to check the page history. There is a button on the toolbar for it that says "Your signature with timestamp." --[[User:Quasar|Quasar]] ([[User talk:Quasar|talk]]) 22:31, 10 December 2022 (CST) : I've studied the output further and this is not actually a problem because MediaWiki will "fix" the HTML output automatically; it does this by wrapping the break in paragraph tags so that there's proper flow between the block elements (ul in this case) and the inline element (br). So please disregard my concerns going forward. I'll fix the article I changed. --[[User:Quasar|Quasar]] ([[User talk:Quasar|talk]]) 22:40, 10 December 2022 (CST) :: Alright. False alarm. Sorry, i just forgot to sign. Is "nbsp" okay as well? That's what is used in flagship articles like Valiant and Ancient Aliens for instance instead of "/br". Btw, how do i make tags render? If i add the & and ; to nbsp or the <> around br they obviously don't rendered anymore. I'm no programmer, so i'm still learning all this syntax --[[User:Gregor|Gregor]] ([[User talk:Gregor|talk]]) 23:06, 10 December 2022 (CST) : You can either escape them (<code>&lt;br&gt;</code>) - <br> - or use nowiki tags (<code><nowiki><nowiki><br></nowiki></nowiki></code>) - <nowiki><br></nowiki> --[[User:Quasar|Quasar]] ([[User talk:Quasar|talk]]) 08:45, 11 December 2022 (CST) Summary: All contributions to DoomWiki.org are considered to be released under the CC BY-SA 4.0 International (see Doom Wiki:Copyrights for details).
