Vavoom is a source port created by merging the source code of Doom, Heretic and Hexen. It has been in development since September 1999, and was first released in June 2000. Since then, code from the Quake source code has been added, mostly for networking and rendering. Vavoom was also the first source port to include Strife support. It is maintained by Jānis Legzdiņš. The source port, with free installers for all the game shareware files, is included in the Fedora RPM software repository.
