Velocity CTF X (also referred to simply as Velocity CTF or VeloCTF) is a wad for the Capture the Flag game mode released on November 15, 2012 for Odamex, Zandronum (at the time, Skulltag), and Zdaemon. The "X" signifies the larger of the 2 Velocity CTF mapsets, the Mechanix Edition, that saw members of the Mechanix Union at the time drive the original 12 map set to a full 32 map megawad.

Velocity was originally built out of a variety of maps that had no true home, being various speedmap sessions, the IDL mapping contests, and experimental maps. Built to accommodate low public server player counts, the project sought to revitalize some interest in public CTF play, and was mildly successful in this endeavour. The themes found in the pack are varied, as well as the pacing and detail levels. It served as the first major released project for MXU, providing a learning experience which would in turn lead to Rage CTF and other major projects such as Don't Be A Bitch Remastered and AeonDM.

Velocity CTF's notability comes from helping drive the creation of the Multiplayer Award specific page for the Cacowards starting in 2013, as well as many of the maps eventually finding their way into tournaments and compilation packs.
