The ZDoom documentation project is a wiki about the ZDoom family of ports. It is almost exclusively a technical reference for modders, with a bit of material on released projects and community history as well.
Due to the immense number of features and options available when creating a ZDoom add-on, it was decided around 2004 that the documentation was best maintained collectively by the community. It would be impossible for the development team to do so alone, even if they particularly wanted to. Classic game modes and map components are included for completeness, although described like other topics, in terms of a sample DECORATE object or script excerpt for easy adaptation.
In discussions about modding, "the wiki" nearly always refers to the ZDoom wiki, not this one.
