200 Line Massacre is a 36-level megawad primarily by Andrik Powell (Arsinikk) and NinjaDelphox, with guest mapping contributions from scwiba and finnks13. It was designed to be compatible with DOOM2.EXE.; however, two super-secret maps require a limit-removing source port (one accessible via warp-only or from an UMAPINFO defined episode; the other accessible via an UMAPINFO-only secret exit).
The WAD was initially released on November 21, 2022, with a final /idgames archive release coming the following month which added a bonus MAP36 with a ZDoom-compatible version of MAP35 as MAP37. It is the direct successor to 100 Line Massacre, creating slaughtery maps in vanilla Doom under the restraint of 200 linedefs. The WAD has a stronger emphasis on large enemy counts and challenge, with a higher skill ceiling compared to its predecessor. The WAD features extensive DeHackEd code changes by Arsinikk, retooling a majority of the weapons and enemies, to allow for faster and more intense gameplay.
A new skill level "Vile Cruelty" is available in ZDoom-based ports and accessible from DSDA-Doom and PrBoom+ via the -coop_spawns or -solo-net command-line parameters.
Unlike 100 Line Massacre, no original music tracks were composed.

Infopack[edit]
200 Line Massacre also includes an "infopack" (similar to the one in Memento Mori) available alongside the WAD. The infopack was developed by Arsinikk using a 2011 version of GameMaker. It was designed to render at 320x240 (can scale to full-screen) and can be ran on modern Windows operating systems. An updated version of this infopack with added mouse support and a higher resolution was used in Hell Revealations.
The infopack was released four months after the final WAD release, and was originally added as a separate /idgames package. In June 2024, the infopack package was integrated into the main /idgames package.[1]
The layout was designed to be similar to the Memento Mori infopack, with keyboard-only navigation. The entire application is essentially a slideshow with a section header, screenshot, and text commentary. Navigation is done by pressing "page up" and "page down", with different sections being able to be switched to via "F1-F3". Pressing "F4" enables a simple CRT filter, with "ESC" or "ALT-ENTER" quitting the app. While the program runs, Mark Klem's "Treasures In the Dark" music track plays in an endless loop.
Story[edit]
200 Line Massacre takes places decades after the story of 100 line Massacre, where that WAD's protagonist gave their life sealing the demon realm from within. This WAD follows a brand new shade wearing protagonist sporting a 90's action-hero caricature.
The story is expounded upon through in-game text provided by the internal DEHACKED and UMAPINFO lumps.
Content[edit]
Gameplay changes[edit]
- The player starts with 0 bullets, instead of 50
- Bullet capacity is increased from 200/400 to 300/600
- Sun Energy capacity is decreased from 300/600 to 200/400
- Rocket projectiles travel 33% faster. This applies for both the player and the cyberdemon.
- Berserk has been replaced with the Bloodlust sphere
- Bullet items now give 2x more bullets; 20/100
- Cell items now give 20% more energy; 25/125
- Shifting key: Skull key that constantly shifts between Red/Blue/Yellow, and will grant the player a random colored key. Only used in MAP25: Cubbiks and MAP34: Credits.
Monster changes[edit]
- Lost soul's HP is decreased from 100 to 45
- Chaingunners drop a clip instead of a chaingun to compensate for the pulveriser
- Demons and spectres have 33% lower health, allowing for a chance to gib
- Cyberdemons have a slightly altered fire sequence (fire->pause->fire->pause->fire->fire) and now fire four rockets
- Spiderdemons are no longer splash-damage immune
- Arachnotron's plasma projectile is slightly faster
Weapon changes[edit]
Note: Every weapon has notably faster weapon-switching speed.
- Double fists: Punches twice as fast
- Double-bladed chainsaw: Chainsaw cuts twice as fast for twice the damage. However, this makes it harder to control due to the chainsaw's pulling mechanics. Has a cat emblem
- Burst-fire pistol: Fires two burst shots with faster firing speed (similar to vanilla chaingun)
- Shotgun: Reload time is slightly faster
- Pulveriser: Chaingun weapon with notably faster firing rate
- Rocket launcher: Faster projectile speed
- Supernova: Plasma rifle weapon with 40% decreased firing rate, slightly faster projectile speed, 3x increased projectile damage, and removed post-fire delay sequence
- BFG 9900k: Fires two tracer attacks, pre-fire delay is decreased, recovers faster after firing, and requires 50 cells per shot, instead of 40. Uses an unused BFG firing sprite
Custom monsters[edit]
- Impostor imp
- Similar to Strain's Class 2 imp, these monsters appear identical to the standard imp, differentiated only by a higher-pitched alert noise. They move extremely fast. Attacks begin with a brief pause, however unlike 'Class 2 Imps', they move right after firing. Their fire and melee attacks are that similar of a Hell knight. They're able to infight with regular imps, and replace Commander Keen. Unlike 100 Line Massacre, they now have a wind-up attack frame with green flames to distinguish them from normal imps.
- Hanging marine
- A hanging reskin of a Commander Keen that screams and explodes when killed. Unlike Commander Keen, the hanged marine does not count towards the kill percentage, allowing for maps that include it to be completed in no monsters mode. They replace the chaingunner slot and therefore drop a chaingun upon death. When all are killed, tag 666 is triggered.
- Illuminati
- A stationary monster that looks like the evil eye decoration. Has no wake up sound but will start shooting arachnotron plasma bolts. Explodes like a barrel on death. Has 90 hit points.
- Jack 'o' Lantern
- A slow moving flying enemy that fires revenant heat-seeking rockets. Always fires a revenant rocket upon death. Has 140 hit points.
- Hyperdemon
- A green wired 1000 HP cyberdemon with a slightly faster movement speed. Like the cyberdemon, they fire a four-rocket volley. Replaces the spiderdemon slot, to add splash-damage immunity, but can in-fight with normal cyberdemons.
- Spirit monster
- A spectre-style rendered monster that acts exactly as their non-spirit variant, except for being harder to see. Variant versions include the arch-vile, revenant, mancubus, and cacodemon. Only used in MAP17: Angelmaker.
- Reactor core
- Replaces Romero's head. Acts like the Icon of Sin, but without the monster spawning functionality. Never seen by the player, but is killed when the player hits a switch at the end of MAP18: Death from Above. Killing it ends the map through the Icon of Sin's death animation but with flames instead of explosions.
- Pussycat Hologram
- Acts the same as the Reactor Core, but depicts a hologram of Arsinikk's avatar and confronts the player with suggestive messages. Only used in MAP32: Pussy. Uses additional animation frames, as well as separate "pain" and "death" frames.
