Altair1 (or Planet Altair1 Base) is a single-level PWAD for Doom II, designed by Kenneth E. Chirko and released in August 1995.
It had two sequels the following year, Altair2 and Altair3a.

Walkthrough[edit]

Secrets[edit]
- After the caged area, open a door to the east, take a lift down, and shoot a switch to access steps. At the top, open the north wall to get a backpack. (sector 77)
- After the caged area, take the lift at the end and open the brown wall to get boxes of ammo, a box of rockets, and a berserk pack. (sector 50)
- Head northeast from the south field and use the slimy wall to the south to get to a soul sphere. (sector 91)
- Take the lift east of the entrance of Secret #3 and at the top, open the bloody wall for a rocket launcher. (sector 99)
- Take the lift north of Secret #4 and press the north switch to get boxes of shotgun shells, boxes of ammo, and boxes of rockets. (sector 159)
- Take the steps past the crusher and open the green wall to get stimpacks and partial invisibility. (sector 130)
- Keep going until you take a lift down. Ride up and hug the north wall to get a medikit and an invulnerability. (sector 227)
- Take the hall west of the lava room and open the bloody wall on the way to get boxes of rockets. (sector 171)
- Follow the armor bonuses until you get to a green wall. Open it to get a stimpack and a switch. (sector 154)
- When the wall north of Secret #9 opens, head to the end and open the west wall for a radiation suit. (sector 184)
- If you used the switch in Secret #9, head east of that secret and when the platforms rise, jump to the north corridor. Open the wall that the light is glowing on to get a light amplification visor. (sector 187)

- Altair IV is the name given to the titular planet in the 1956 movie Forbidden Planet. It is also a planet in the Star Trek franchise, which is a homage to the original.
