Andy Kempling (Aurikan, formerly Aurican) is a former Doom player, programmer, and level designer who joined the community around the release of Doom's source code. He was a fan of Lee Killough's work, and did some research on bot AI and implemented an early Doom chasecam called Chase that was released in 1998. In 2000 he made another source port to exactly time a tic, with a monster counter and various advanced playback features, called Timer.

He also participated in demo competitions, including Compet-n until his use of a modified DOSDoom executable (called lmpcheat or LMP Cheater) became evident. His Doom-related webpage was named Nexus (on Doomworld), and he became part of the group that managed the #doomroom IRC channel.

In 2001, Andy's only released level was submitted for inclusion in deathmatch megawad Crucified Dreams.

Aurikan lost part of his interest in the games after Killough's withdrawl from the community, and in 2001, after the DoomServ and CsDoom controversies, he practically left the Doom community altogether, focusing his gaming interests elsewhere.
