CleanWAD is a utility to clean redundant data from, and optimize some kinds of data in, WAD files. It was created by Serge Smirnov in 1995, then largely rewritten and expanded by Martin Howe between 2004 and 2006. The rewrite added support for all main Doom engine games as well as a variety of source port features.
