Cosmic BFG
From DoomWiki.org
The cosmic BFG was a planned weapon for Doom: The Dark Ages. According to information shared by id Software principal concept artist Colin Geller, this was one of the planned BFG adaptations after the development team chose to include a BFG-type weapon in the game. It was supposed to originate from the Cosmic Realm, being massive and monolithic in form and inspired by the Cosmic Realm's architecture.[1] The weapon would have contained a micro black hole that, when collapsed, would have released energy in the form of a green projectile.[2] The cosmic BFG was abandoned at some point in favour of the ballistic force crossbow.
Trivia[edit]
- According to game director Hugo Martin, at one point during development, the team discussed not having a BFG-type weapon in The Dark Ages.[3]
