A credits map (or credit map) is a special type of level that is usually included in community projects as a way to give credit to all participants in such a project, hence the name. A credits map often includes nicknames of participants and/or their photos or avatars. Such levels usually do not include any gameplay. Credits maps, or epilogue maps in general, are most importantly used to block progression to stock IWAD maps if the PWAD is shorter than 32 maps, for example Magnolia's MAP04, an epilogue map, made so players cannot enter and play The Focus.
Examples of credits maps[edit]
- MAP34: Credits from Eternal Doom
- MAP17: THE END from 50 Shades of Graytall
- MAP22: Twilight of Neo Shotkon City from DBP37: AUGER;ZENITH
- MAP37: Credits from Eviternity II
