From DoomWiki.org

Demonstration of several CstDoom3 features, including aspect-correct HUD, double-barreled shotgun in the base campaign, and headlamp.

CstDoom3 is a combination source port and modification for Doom 3 created by fva and first released in 2017.

Features[edit]

Technical[edit]

  • Ability to set custom resolutions from the menu, with automatic support for any aspect ratio, including corrected aspect for all HUD elements.
  • FOV option in menus, with positioning correction for weapons.
  • Ability to configure and use multiple layers of key and mouse bindings.
  • Uses system user's Saved Games folder to save data on Windows.
  • Various bug fixes.

Gameplay[edit]

All gameplay changes (other than bug fixes) are optional and are controlled from the options menu.

  • On-screen display of access codes.
  • Ability to use the grabber and double-barreled shotgun in the base campaign if Resurrection of Evil is installed.
  • Ability to use the chainsaw in Resurrection of Evil.
  • Shotgun spread can be reduced by half.
  • Ability to toggle between grenades and the previously equipped weapon.
  • Additional binds for toggling between weapons with different priorities (for example, selecting shotgun before the double-barreled shotgun, or fists before the grabber).
  • Support for a centered headlamp which can be used along with other weapons, unlike the flashlight, and without replacing the flashlight.
  • On/off switch for the flashlight in single-player (same as normally available in multiplayer).
  • Autorun option with or without optional infinite stamina.
  • Run, crouch, and zoom indicators for the HUD.
  • Ability to disable smoke from various weapons and projectiles.
  • Ability to disable any or all pain effects, including double vision, tunnel vision, view deflection, screen blobs, and pain sounds.
  • Ability to use grabber and BFG in multiplayer matches.

Notes[edit]

Due to including a modified engine and customized game libraries, CstDoom3 cannot be used with mods which require their own game libraries without porting those mods to its codebase manually.
