DBK01: Dungeon Synths is an episode for Doom II designed for ZDoom-compatible source ports. Created by veteran members of the Doomer Boards Projects led by Big Ol' Billy, it is the first installment in the DBK series. Released in July 2021, the mapset is themed around a combination of medieval design with cyberpunk, synth-inspired visuals. It includes new sounds, Ogg music and textures.
The episode received an honorable mention at the 2021 Cacowards.

In addition to the custom monsters defined above, the zombieman, shotgun guy and heavy weapon dude all received new sprites that are quite different from the stock Doom II sprites and several other monsters received more minor sprite edits. However, the statistics and names for these monsters were not changed, barring the lost soul which has its health reduced to 50 hit points.
