Coffin Curse is a seven-level episode replacement for Doom II designed for limit removing source ports, created by various members of the Doomer Boards community, led by Jon Vail (40oz). It is the fifth entry in the ongoing Doomer Boards Projects. Work on the project was carried out during July 2018. It was first released on the Doomer Boards forums on August 1, 2018, and uploaded to the idgames archive on August 6 of the same year. The WAD features a gothic theme.

Coffin Curse was mentioned in the 2018 Cacowards under the "Recommend me a...coffee break mapset" section.

The intermission screen features a still of The Crypt-Keeper from the HBO's Tales from the Crypt TV series.
The project shares its title with a Chilean death metal band of the same name.
This would be the last DBP theme to be chosen via popular vote, excluding the one-time return of it for DBP42: Slime on Earth.
