DIY (short for Do It Yourself) is a 32-map megawad for Doom II and MBF21-compatible source ports, created as a community project. The initial release in the Doomworld forums happened on July 18, 2022, followed by upload to the /idgames archive on October 16 that same year. The project features a minimalist aesthetic inspired by 1 Bad Wad and is built around solid color textures as well as sprite changes in a similar style, and relies heavily on the creativity of the mappers to convey specific themes and settings. The project was initially led by xvertigox though he suffered health issues during the compilation and feedback phase of the project, and it would ultimately be seen to completion by ViolentBeetle.
DIY received an honorable mention at the Cacowards in 2023.
