DMapEdit (stands for Doom Map Editor) is a DOS level editor for Doom, Doom II, Heretic, Hexen and ZDoom. It was originally created by Jason Hoffos, who later stopped working on it, and Bruce A. Benko continued its development. Comes with tutorials and its own internal nodesbuilder.

- Support for Doom, Doom II, Heretic, Hexen and ZDoom mapping standards
- Conversion between Doom, Doom II and Heretic maps. Maps can not be converted from Hexen maps, only converted to Hexen
- Demo playback and recording
- Ability to test map, and after quitting automatically return to the editor
- Option for things to be animated when selected
- Error checking
- Option to recalculate all sectors of a map, fixing them automatically
- 3D preview

- v1.0 was released on March 3, 1994.[1] It is the first release.
- v1.1 was released on March 16, 1994.[2]
- v2.0 was released on April 3, 1994.[3] DMapEdit became shareware in this version.
- v2.1 was released on April 6, 1994.[4]
- v3.0 beta was released on May 11, 1994.[5]
- v3.0 was released on May 24, 1994.[6]
- v3.01 was released on August 13, 1994.
- v4.0 beta 11 was released on May 4, 1995.
