Deag Loric in the codex entry.

Deag Loric is a Sentinel priest, a member of the sacred Argenta Order of the Deag during the time of King Novik. He is depicted in Doom: The Dark Ages.

History[edit]

Spoiler Warning: Plot details follow.

Deag Loric has a particular passion for and focus on preservation of ancient Sentinel lore and artifacts. This emphasis set him apart from most of his peers, who were far more aligned with Maykr doctrine. As such, he was foremost in knowledge of the Sentinels' old gods, the Elemental Wraiths, and possesses knowledge of the Heart of Argent, an artifact intimately related to them.

Unusually for his order, Deag Loric undertook a secret marriage to a commoner as a private refuge from the weight of his work. Such unions were generally considered forbidden under the traditions of the priesthood. Unfortunately this proves to be a weakness for Loric, as Prince Ahzrak is apparently able to convince Loric that the soul of his wife, who had previously passed away, was subject to his torments in Hell. As a result, Loric reveals some information about the Heart of Argent to the demonic prince, though the extent of what he revealed remains unknown. Loric immediately contacts King Novik to alert him of this faltering, however, and states that he misled the prince to the degree he could.

Loric is never seen again after the destruction of Aratum. It must be presumed that he died in the demonic siege of the city or in its fall afterward.

Spoilers end here.
