DeeP (stands for Doom Enhanced Editor Program) was a DOS DPMI level editor and WAD resource manager for Doom engine games. It was created by Jack Vermeulen and sold commercially by Sensor Based Systems, Inc. In December 1996, DeeP was ported to Windows under the name DeeP97.

  • DeeP supported the following games: Doom, Doom II, Heretic, Hexen, Strife.
  • DeeP could be used to view, edit and export Duke Nukem 3D textures, as well as view its levels.
  • DeeP could be used to view and export textures from Quake.
  • Had its own node builder called DeePBSP.

Development of DeeP began in June 1994. It was originally based on Doom Editing Utilities (DEU) code, even its working title was DEUX, which stands for DEU extended.

HeeP[edit]

At some point, a separate editor for Heretic called HeeP (stands for Heretic Enhanced Editor Program) was released along with DeeP. HeeP was merged into DeeP in version 6.14.
