Diabolus Ex is a single-level PWAD for Doom II and the GZDoom source port. It was created by Arvydas Brazdeikis (Arvell) and was released on the Doomworld forums on July 7, 2018. Heavily influenced by the Deus Ex franchise, the map utilizes a custom texture set to portray a dystopic corporation run by the forces of Hell. The map uses the custom music track "Diabolus Ex" by El-Metallico.

In 2024, Diabolus Ex was included in the Missed Cacowards 2.

Walkthrough

Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Secrets

1. Enter the restroom near the start and crouch into the open stall to head outside to a super shotgun. (sector 1049)
2. Head north from the yellow skull key, getting on the crates, then through the north wall to get a medikit. (sector 964)
3. In the colored square area, head to the middle to find a BFG9000 and energy cell packs on a high ledge. To get it, continue north until you see red squares to the east. Jump to them and use them to jump to the BFG9000. (thing 18)
4. Open the yellow skull door and in the next room, crouch into the northwest vent to find energy cells and a plasma gun. (sector 1379)
5. Open the yellow keycard door, then head to the bend in the hall and open the west wall. Open the next door, then go to the bars to lower them. Head to the northwest part of the room and through the curtain, then get the soul sphere below (thing 310)
6. Head north of Secret #4 and press the switch on the wall. Climb back to the room and take the north teleporter to find a secret section with a maze. (sector 1518)
7. In the round room, open the southeast door, then enter the blue room to the south. Kill the arch-vile here, then return to the previous hall to find the north door open, with backpacks, a soul sphere, and a computer area map. (sector 1171)
