DoomPC is a source port of Doom by Michaël Ryssen (Kokak), based on DoomGL, by the same author. It removes the OpenGL related code of the former, but it retains several improvements over the stock source code.
Features[edit]
- Support for high resolutions
- COLORMAP support for invulnerability, radiation shielding suit and full light
- Mouselook support
- Joystick support
- TCP/IP network code that is cross-platform and cross-version compatible with DoomGL and DoomPPC
- Various bugs fixed
History[edit]
DoomPC was primarily intended to host DoomGL's various improvements without inclusion of the OpenGL renderer and related files and, like DoomPPC, to function as a testing port for network related experiments. The only version is 1.0, released on December 30, 2006.
The port has since been discontinued.
