Doomer Boards Projects

From DoomWiki.org

The Doomer Boards Projects (or DBP for short) are a month long mapping event created by Jon Vail (40oz) that take place every month on Doomer Boards. On the 1st of each month the current project leader will post a resource pack containing a set of custom textures, MIDIs, and sometimes new DeHackEd monsters and weapons. The projects are limit-removing episodes or megawads for Doom II. Starting with DBP59: Zeppelin Armada, some projects have a two-month development cycle.

Vail managed the first six Doomer Boards Projects until he stepped away from the Doom community completely in late 2018. Subsequent DBPs have had a variety of project leaders. In 2020, Vail returned to helm the 23rd installment.

The series as a whole has been well received, with the first (Monuments of Mars) and fifth (Coffin Curse) installments mentioned in the 2018 Cacowards under the "Recommend me a...coffee break mapset" section. The series' 16th installment, Cyb's Freaky Colonoscopy, was one of the runners-up in the Cacowards 2019. The series' 37th installment, AUGER;ZENITH, was one of the runners-up in the Cacowards 2021.
