Doomworld Mega Project 2018 is a collaborative megawad, containing thirty-two maps from as many different mappers. The project was led by TimeOfDeath and is the seventh installment in the Doomworld Mega Project series. The rules for this entry in the long-running series were that no custom resources (besides music) were to be used, only limit-removing and Boom compatible maps were accepted, and authors were required to upload a demo of themselves completing the map without cheating or using saves alongside its submission. These demos are all included in the /idgames package, which is split into two files: DMP2018cl2.wad for the limit-removing maps and DMP2018cl9.wad for the Boom ones. The project started on January 2, 2018,[1] and the resulting compilation was released exactly a year later - on January 2, 2019.[2]
The prohibition of ZDoom format in DMP2018 caused discontent amongst some of the Doomworld forums members, which in result led to the emergence of an alternative project - Doomworld Omega Project 2018.
