E1M1 is the first map of Orpheus' Descent Into Hell. It was designed by Shane.

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the south-west is a room with a pentagonal pillar with a switch on one side. The switch lowers the floor, revealing a path with a secret door (marked with a different texture) leading to a room with a medikit and a switch. (sector 44)
  2. Pressing the switch behind #1 lowers the pentagonal pillar, on which lies a chainsaw. (sector 42)
  3. Head south from the start then turn left down a dark corridor. This leads to a room with a switch (indicated by a candle) which opens a door to the east, where there is an imp (not on easy skill), a zombieman, and a stimpack. Walking into this room causes several sectors to become brighter. (sector 18)
  4. Walking along the dark corridor lowers the wall in the centre of the start room revealing a soul sphere. Approaching it teleports you to a room with 1-8 demons (there is also a shotgun on multiplayer). Teleporting back allows you to obtain the soul sphere. (sector 27)
