E1M2: E4M2 - The Reactor is the second map in the first episode of Switcheroom. It was designed by Travers Dunne (traversd) and is based on the layout of E4M2: Perfect Hatred. The par time defined in MAPINFO is 1:15.

Essentials[edit]

As the level starts you will see two steps in front of you. Run across the left-hand step to reach a ledge with a zombieman (more will be released near the starting point), then flip the switch on the east wall to open the door opposite and reveal a demon. Go through the door and step on the lift ahead to go down to the floor below, then press the button to the north to raise a walkway from the surrounding nukage. Ride the lift back up and use the walkway to reach the north-west platform, then run up the gray steps to reach the north-east platform where you can collect the yellow keycard. Be ready to kill the zombies and demon that are hiding behind the east wall.

Go back to the main room and drop into the nukage, then climb up the steps in the middle of the room to reach a bridge. Run east over a gap to a yellow door, open it then head south through some tunnels until you reach a staircase leading up to the blue keycard. With the key, step through the opening in the west wall to drop back into the nukage, then head north and north-west to return to the large bridge in the main room. Head north along the bridge to a blue door, open it and kill any zombies and demons that are released ahead, then open the northern door to reach the exit room. Fight past some imps and zombies to the north wall, which will lower to reveal the exit button.

  1. At the north-west end, use the wall west of the switch to find a megaarmor and a box of bullets. (sector 103)
  2. Open the door leading to the northernmost room, then backtrack west and south. Hop across the blocks to the east to get a supercharge. (sector 155)
  3. Enter the northernmost room, then leave and backtrack west and south. Enter the nukage to the west and take the lift to the south-west up. You will find health bonuses, armor bonuses and a chainsaw. (sector 219)

Non-official[edit]

  • Taking the yellow key opens a compartment at the south end of the room. You can open the brown wall in the south-east corner of this compartment to reveal a button, which will raise platforms connecting the walkways in the main room for easier traversal.
