E1M2: Jade Baths is the second map of The Wayfarer. It was designed by Not Jabba and uses the music track "Low Fire" by Gus Knezevich (Alfonzo).

Green key[edit]
Head west up some steps to a large cavern and run south to a raised platform with an ethereal crossbow, which you can use to pick off the fire gargoyles that are released around you. Continue west across some smaller platforms to a ledge with a trident switch (if you fall off, there are staircases below that you can use to climb up to the switch) and press it to open two sets of bars in the south wall, then go to those bars and step through to a tunnel which leads to a water pool. Pressing the switch on the center column will lower the water and reveal two undead warriors ahead (who are ghosts on bringest them oneth (BTO) skill level or higher), followed by gargoyles and weredragons to the north and south; head through the stone door in the south wall and go up the steps in front of you to find an undead warrior guarding another trident switch, which will open the east door in the water area leading to a green room.
Enter the green room then run east past some disciples of D'Sparil to a staircase, climb it to the top and run forward to jump down to a ledge with a button - this will lower a pillar holding the green key in the pit below. Drop down to the hallway behind you and head round to its west side to find an entrance to the pit, drop in and head straight forward to a Sigil of Power that you can use to slay the disciples and sabreclaws that ambush you. Press the button between the blocks on the south side of the pit to lower the bars around the green key then climb up the steps on the east side to collect it - you will teleport to a neighboring room to the west, where more disciples and sabreclaws will be released.
Yellow and blue keys and exit[edit]
Leave the room by the west doorway to return to the starting area, then head north to a green key door and open it to get outside. Head north and east past some golems, undead warriors and fire gargoyles to find a set of descending green steps, then press the button to the south of these steps (next to two Morph Ovums) to lower the pillar in the middle of these steps holding the yellow key. Taking the key will cause sabreclaws to appear around you, so fight your way out then head west to a yellow key door, which is defended by weredragons, undead warriors and nitrogolems that have also teleported in. Go through the door to find a hellstaff, then climb the red-carpeted staircase past some undead warriors and fire gargoyles to the top floor where you will see some wooden steps. Climb the steps and open the door at the top to find the blue key.
From the blue key, step into the teleporter behind you to go to the outdoor area below, where you will be assaulted by undead warriors, sabreclaws and nitrogolems (plus disciples on BTO or higher); turn round to see a dragon claw and Sigil of Power that will help you get rid of them. Go to the crates by the north-west low wall and press the button next to them to lower some bars blocking the entrance to the west building, then go inside that building and walk straight forward to a trident switch inside a sludge pool; the entrance will be sealed behind you. The column ahead will lower to reveal an ophidian (or iron lich on BTO or higher), along with one or more ophidians that teleport in - kill them then press the button that was hidden behind the column to re-open the entrance door. Go back outside and head south to an octagonal tower, which has now opened to reveal the exit teleporter inside.
Other points of interest[edit]
In the cavern south-west of the starting point, drop into the water below and head east to find Gauntlets of the Necromancer along with a teleporter back up.
Secrets[edit]
- In the intersection with curved steps, head through either set going west and in the room with the desk, go to the desk and use the hidden button. This reveals a teleporter to the north, taking you to a harbor with crystal vials, a Bag of Holding, a map scroll, an energy orb, claw orbs and ethereal arrows. (sector 3244)
- In the south-east room, go to the north-east pool and shoot the switch behind the fence. Head to the south-west pool and drop down. Head east to get six flame orbs and a shadowsphere. (sector 1841)
- Go to the big pit at the east end where you found the green key. There are two skulls at the north-east and south-east ends. You need to shoot the north-east one, so head back to the steps that led you here and shoot at that skull. Quickly run west to the room with water pools and enter the teleporter where the north-west column was. Climb the steps to get a Tome of Power. (sector 3488)
- Get the green key to teleport back to the room with water pools, where you will be ambushed by sabreclaws and disciples. Enter the south compartment and find the hidden button on the east wall. This lowers the south-east column which has a Morph Ovum. (sector 36)
- In the north courtyard, head to the yellow key door and jump south. Lower a wall there, then follow the path to another wall, which lowers and reveals a switch. After pressing it, head all the way north-east to some broken cart tracks, take a small lift up and lower the mural in front of you. Take this path to a mine where you can teleport to the central courtyard. This has a phoenix rod, flame orbs and crystal vials. (sector 884)
