E1M3: Beat It! is the third level of Infinity. It was designed by Björn Hermans and Holger Nathrath, and uses a MIDI rendition of "Beat It" by Michael Jackson as its music track.

Walkthrough[edit]

Essentials[edit]

Open the door and kill a waiting shotgun guy, go south through another door to enter an octagonal junction, then open the east door here to enter a hallway with zombiemen. Approach the lift at the north end of the hallway to lower it, continue north through a nukage pool, then pass through two metal walls in the south-west corner to reach a door leading to a courtyard with the blue skull key. You can lower the pedestal the key sits on by pressing any side of it.

Go back to the octagonal junction and go through the south door this time, then follow the corridor until you drop into a pit with imps and shotgun guys. Enter the passage in the south-west corner to find a lift which will put you on top of the dividing wall, then go down the stairs on the other side to reach a blue door. Open the door and take the yellow skull key behind it, which will open the surrounding walls to reveal the F room which holds zombies and imps. After getting the yellow key you should step back through the blue door before it closes, but if it does you can reopen it by pressing the button in the alcove in the north-west corner of the room.

Go back to the nukage pool past the large lift, but instead of going through the pool head east to a metal lift and activate it to go up to a yellow door. Behind the door is a fence through which you can see a button—shooting the button (or the walls either side of it) will open the nearby door as well as a monster closet behind you. Go through the door and head down the steps to your left, kill any monsters waiting at the bottom then press the lion switch on the east wall to open another closet ahead. Press a second lion switch inside this closet then go back up to the fence room, where a third closet containing the red skull key has opened at the north-east end.

With the red key, use it to open the red door to the south then follow the hallway to a room where a shotgun guy is waiting to ambush you. Flip the switch in the north-east corner to lower the west wall, then flip a second switch behind that wall to open a passage in the south-east corner. Follow the passage to a pentagram floor and step across the middle of it to end the level.

Other points of interest[edit]

There are four lifts around the blue key that hold a plasma gun, a supercharge, a box of rockets, and an energy cell pack.

Open the doors in front of the yellow door to get a chaingun and rocket launcher.

Secrets[edit]

  1. After getting the blue key, go back to the room with the caged teleporter and the metal wall to the north will be open. Going through this back alley to the teleporter nets you four secrets. (sector 66)
  2. See secret #1. (sector 68)
  3. See secret #1. (sector 71)
  4. See secret #1. (sector 72)
  5. Grabbing the yellow key opens up the room with the "F", which counts as a secret. (sector 204)
  6. After opening the yellow door, shoot across the cage on your left and a wall will open up behind you with several monsters inside. (sector 146)
  7. The closet containing the red key is a secret. (sector 214)
