E1M3: Waste Refinery is the third map of Simply Phobos. It was designed by Paul Corfiatis and uses the music track "Kitchen Ace (And Taking Names)" by Robert Prince, from Doom. When playing with pe1_pmus.wad the level uses Paul's music track "No Mad Nomads". The par time defined in MAPINFO is 1:50. The map was also included in the same slot in Death Tormention: The Complete Trilogy.

Other points of interest[edit]

Secrets[edit]

  1. In the area with two nukage pits east of the yellow key, open the south door, then open the next door here to be back at the staircase near the starting room. Go back to the starting room to find the door in the back open. Enter the corridor and then take the lift up to reach a rocket launcher and boxes of rockets. Grab the rocket launcher if you intend to reach the secret exit. (sector 108)
  2. In the C-shaped hall at the northeast end, you can press on the inner wall in the middle to lower a lift into Secret #4, but this will also lower a lift in the hall north of this hall. Quickly head back there and step onto the lift. When it rides up, head west and use the switch to find a soul sphere. Make sure you get this secret if you intend to reach the secret exit. (sector 110)
  3. Shoot the wall to the south of the starting point. If you grabbed the rocket launcher in Secret #1 and the soul sphere in Secret #2, then return to this area and a bridge will lead south to the secret exit room. (sector 223)
  4. In the C-shaped hall at the northeast end, you can press on the inner wall in the middle to lower yourself to a megaarmor, which is guarded by shotgun guys if you are not playing on Hey, Not Too Rough or lower. (sector 376)
  5. The southeast hall has a soul sphere on a pillar. To reach it, first get the red key, then open the red door to the south. Head all the way west and flip the switch, then return to the pillar to see it has lowered. (sector 387)
