Walkthrough[edit]

Map of Cowboys and Indians
Letters in italics refer to marked spots on the map. Sector, thing, and linedef numbers in boldface are secrets which count toward the end-of-level tally.

Essentials[edit]

The three important landmarks are the watchtower due north, the dilapidated house to the west, and the warehouse by the exit slipgate to the northwest. The map's progression is extremely simple, but monsters, items, and secrets are scattered absolutely everywhere, so fully exploring the map is essential.

Go north to the watchtower first. Do a little chasm-jumping and hit the switch to raise the stairs to the yellow keycard on the rooftop. Dropping into the ether returns you to your spawn point.

Now go to the old house to the west and use the yellow keycard to get onto the balcony with the red keycard, triggering a huge ambush. There is plenty of ammo on the horseshoe-shaped cliff nearby, and the rocket launcher can be grabbed with a little parkour finesse.

The warehouse is the last stop. Flip the switch to raise the stairs to the exit (and trigger another ambush).

Other points of interest[edit]

There is a computer map behind the exit slipgate, but it doesn't count as a secret. It can help you find the trickier secret areas.

From the spawn point, you can reach a helpful ammo cache by climbing the nearest house's dinner table and jumping out the window.

There are many small islands with ammo and other goodies, so look out for them.

Secrets[edit]

  1. Directly behind your spawn point is a cliffside house. Push the door in for a cache of useful goodies. (sector 52)
  2. From the cliff mentioned above, you can access two more secret items. A donut-shaped rock hides a berserk pack. (sector 90) On the opposite side of the cliff is a small protrusion with a Rage sphere. (sector 0)
  3. See secret #2.
  4. Run around behind the old house to lower the soul sphere atop the fountain. Be quick to grab it, or you'll miss it. (sector 144)
  5. From the left tip of the horseshoe cliff by the old house, you can see an indentation in the rock, which you'll have to jump over the aether to reach. If you manage not to fall back to the spawn point, examine the wall to open it and reveal a teleporter. (sector 105) It takes you to the rooftops and a secret blue armor.
  6. Skip along the rooftops to the large plateau across from the watchtower for the BFG9000. (sector 93)
  7. Use the bushes by the warehouse to get on top of the crates and reach the backpack. (sector 164)
  8. In the dilapidated structure southeast of the start, get on the table and jump south to the rock. Head east to get a box of rockets, a box of shotgun shells, and a box of ammo. (sector 55)
